Needs Analysis and description of target users

The Niagara Records Music Player will be a Flash application accessible from the website which will allow users to listen to audio recordings of tracks from the Niagara Records music catalog. Audio clips will be between 2 and 5 minutes long. All tracks will be streaming but selected tracks will be available for direct (free) download.

The purpose of this service will be to

• introduce people to the artists on the label
• keep people coming back to our website
• drive people to our existing online catalog to purchase CDs
• drive people to the Apple iTunes store to purchase downloads.

The core audience for the record label is teen and young adult music fans. With this service we are hoping to reach younger consumers as well.

There are approximately 150 albums (about 1500 songs) in the catalog. They are all digitized, entered into a database and available for use in the application. A sample output from the database is below.
